Roses of Recognition: Honoring women educators and leaders
In celebration of Women’s Month and Zonta Rose Day, the Zonta Club of Tuguegarao, Philippines, alongside its Z Club of Cagayan National High School (CNHS) and The Apple Tree School, Inc. (TATATS), led meaningful initiatives to recognize and honor women’s contributions to education and leadership.
At Cagayan National High School, Z club members distributed Roses of Recognition to dedicated teachers and non-teaching staff, symbolizing appreciation and gratitude for their hard work. The initiative was made possible through the club's sponsorship, enabling students to express their heartfelt thanks to the women who shape their school community.
Meanwhile, at TATATS, the Pupil Government Council (PGC) officers, led by President Chelsea Kim C. Sabado, took part in Zonta Rose Day celebrations by crafting and presenting handmade yellow roses to their teachers. This tradition, instilled by School Director Ma. Anna Lissa M. Adtani, a proud club member, reinforced the values of respect, appreciation and empowerment among the young leaders.
The club, in partnership with TATATS, also extended its Zonta Rose Day celebrations beyond the school, honoring three distinguished women leaders—Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Ting Que, DHSUD Regional Director Grace A. De Vera and Club President Liza Mora-Arroyo—for their remarkable contributions to leadership and advocacy. Mayor Que delivered an inspirational message, encouraging students to embrace leadership and champion women’s rights.
