Zonta Read Forward

The Zonta Club of Aparri, Philippines, conducted a book turnover event for its project “Zonta Read Forward: Advancing Literacy, Empowering Futures” at Aparri East Central School on 19 February.

The initiative, led by Club President Liciel Antiporda-Ontiveros, aims to promote literacy and support educational opportunities for students in the community.

The project was made possible through the donation of 62 sacks of books from Dr. Monica Lazo Moreno, president of Montessori Integrated School of Antipolo, with Zontian Inday Lara facilitating the contribution. Zontians Norma Arellano, Dian Dayag and Criselda Alzaga assisted in organizing the transportation and storage of the donated books.

Members and officers of the CSU Golden ZFAS Club, led by Club President Mark Jexrel Cristobal, also contributed by helping sort, inventory and prepare the books for distribution.

The club also recognized the support of PSDS Zontian Judith Baclig and the school heads and principals of the Aparri East District for their collaboration in supporting the initiative.

Through the project, the Zonta Club of Aparri continues to promote literacy and expand educational opportunities for students in the community.
