Zonta Club of Quirino cultivates a safer and more inclusive community

In a vibrant celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan, the Zonta Club of Quirino, Philippines, partnered with Mayor Jerry T. Agsalda and the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) of Aglipay, under the dynamic leadership of Florita Joey A. Blanza, RSW (OIC-MSWDO / LYDO Designate), to create a memorable program focused on safe spaces and youth rights.

A highlight of the event was a thought-provoking talk on the Safe Spaces Act delivered by Zontian Maureen Ruma. This session empowered the Pinaripad community with essential knowledge about their rights and ways to combat abuse.

On the day of the program, more than 600 students and teachers from Pinaripad National High School eagerly participated in a lecture-symposium focused on youth-related laws, held at the school in Aglipay, Quirino. This initiative beautifully showcases the commitment of the local government, youth leaders, educators and the club to cultivate a safer and more inclusive community for everyone.

Additionally, Zontians gathered for their monthly meeting to brainstorm exciting upcoming club activities. Their unwavering dedication to creating a better world for women and girls will lead to a series of empowering lectures and symposiums across various schools in the province.

The club is especially excited to enhance collaboration between municipalities and their respective Local Youth Development Offices to support the younger generation, particularly during the celebrations of Linggo ng Kabataan and Buwan ng Kabataan. They are also preparing for the impactful 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Thanks to the inspiring leadership of Zontian President Donabel A. Balot and the steadfast support of its members, these initiatives are not just possible—they are thriving!
