Innovation, environmental sustainability and research in drone logistics

The Zonta Club Parma, Italy, met with Silvia Angelo, CEO of Menta srl, to learn more about the company’s innovative drone logistics projects focused on transporting medical samples from laboratories across the province of Parma to a central laboratory.

During the meeting, Angelo presented how aerospace drones are being used as cutting-edge technology to support emergency healthcare services. The initiative aims to make medical transport faster, more sustainable and more controllable throughout the entire operational chain.

The drone logistics project aligns with eight objectives of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and represents a starting point for further commercial developments in the delivery sector. By utilizing eco-sustainable technology, the project has the potential to significantly reduce road traffic and ease pressure on an increasingly saturated road system, while improving efficiency in healthcare services.
