Zonta Club of Pampanga advances environmental stewardship and celebrates area recognition

The Zonta Club of Pampanga, Philippines, recently participated in two meaningful initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability, leadership development and service to the community.

Plant today for our tomorrow

The club joined forces with ATTAP for a tree-planting project in support of environmental sustainability and community development.

Members participated in planting trees as part of an effort to contribute to a greener and healthier future for generations to come. The initiative highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship and collective action in protecting natural resources.

Club members described the project as an opportunity to plant not only trees but also seeds of hope and responsibility, reinforcing a shared commitment to preserving the environment for the future.

Club recognized at Area 1 and Area 5 Meeting

On 6 June, members of the Zonta Club of Pampanga participated in the District 17 Area 1 and Area 5 Meeting at Casa Ibarra in the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.

Representing the club were President Gina Millan, President-Elect Leonor Bais, Past Presidents Gilda Padua and Analiza Agbanglo, Board Member Eleanor Naguit and prospective members Marita Marzan, Felicitas Park, Ethel Ocampo and Josephine Javier.

The gathering featured leadership updates, project presentations, club recognitions and fellowship activities. During the opening program, Millan ceremonially passed the Zonta flag to Bais during the Flag Turnover Processional, symbolizing the transition of leadership and service for Biennium 2026–2028.

One of the highlights of the event was the Awards and Recognition Ceremony, where the Zonta Club of Pampanga received two Area 1 honors.

The club was presented with the MAGIS+ Excellence Award in recognition of its dedication, innovation and excellence in implementing projects aligned with the mission and vision of Zonta International. The award acknowledged the club’s commitment to service, teamwork and community impact.

Millan also received the Trailblazer Award for her leadership, dedication and service to Zonta International. The award recognized her vision, integrity and contributions throughout her presidency and years of service.

These honors add to the Outstanding Advocacy Award (Merit Award) and Outstanding Club Award (Merit Award) the club received during the 23rd District 17 Conference in Macau in September 2025.

With four awards received during Biennium 2024–2026, the club reflected on a period marked by growth, service and advocacy. Members said the recognitions affirm the impact of the club’s efforts to empower women and strengthen communities while inspiring continued commitment to Zonta International’s mission.
