Loving Embrace medical outreach

The Zonta Club of Laguna, Philippines, continues to expand its community health initiatives through a series of outreach programs aimed at protecting vulnerable residents and improving access to essential healthcare.

Free Pneumo 23 vaccines and medicines for elderly residents

The Zonta Club of Laguna administered 200 Pneumo 23 vaccines and distributed maintenance medicines to elderly residents of Barangay Pacita 1 in San Pedro City, Laguna.

The initiative was designed to support the health and well-being of senior community members by providing preventive care and essential medicines. Through this effort, the club continues to promote accessible healthcare while helping protect older residents from pneumonia and other health risks.

Club members said the initiative reflects their ongoing commitment to serving vulnerable populations and strengthening community care systems in the area.

Vaccination drive protects hundreds of children

The club also conducted a Pneumo 23 Vaccination Program focused on protecting Filipino children from pneumonia, a serious and potentially life-threatening illness.

Through the program, 400 children ages 2 to 17 received free Pneumo 23 vaccinations.

The initiative was made possible through partnerships with several medical organizations and professionals, including the MOB Foundation led by Dr. Cres Regaspi-Gacoba, CPSP STC led by Dr. Grace VM, PPS STC headed by Dr. Teresita Risalyn Villanueva, SPCMC led by Dr. Mabel Carreon and Dr. Milagros Borabien, a member of the Zonta Club of Laguna.

Doctors, nurses, healthcare workers and volunteers supported the effort by providing medical expertise and assisting with the vaccination drive.

Organizers said the program reflects a shared commitment to helping children grow up healthy and free from preventable disease.

Medical outreach continues despite typhoon challenges

Despite the challenges brought by Typhoon Uwan, the Zonta Club of Laguna continued its medical outreach efforts to serve the community.

The club conducted medical checkups for the first 50 pediatric patients and provided Pneumo 23 vaccinations to 200 beneficiaries to ensure access to essential healthcare services during difficult conditions.

The outreach was led by Zonta Club of Laguna President Congresswoman Ann Matibag and Dr. Milagros Borabien, with the support of doctors and vaccinators from the MOB Foundation.

Club members and volunteers who supported the initiative included Dr. Cres Regaspi-Gacoba, Nurse Joyce Acierto RN, Maida Minette Ambayec, Jing Abarca and Sarah Arellado.
