Loving Embrace: A Medical Mission

In a strong show of community-centered healthcare advocacy, the Zonta Club of Laguna, Philippines, participated in the “Loving Embrace” initiative brought essential medical services, educational outreach and preventive care to underserved areas across Laguna. Organized by MOB Foundation Inc. in partnership with the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS), St. Michael’s College of Laguna (SMCL) and other civic and medical partners, the initiative delivered impactful programs through three distinct missions: a vaccination campaign in San Pedro City, a medical and dental mission in Pila and a reproductive health education event in Biñan City.

Vaccination mission

The "Loving Embrace" vaccination mission at Pacita Astrodome, San Pedro City, was a collaborative healthcare initiative that brought together multiple organizations to provide essential vaccination services to the community. This effort united the expertise of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS) Committee on Reproductive Health I, MOB Foundation Inc., BDH, SPCMHS, Rotary Club, and Amante Hospital. The mission was led by key medical professionals. Dr. C. Gacoba served as Overall Coordinator and Vaccinator and Dr. M. Borabien acted as the main Speaker on breastfeeding and vaccinations.

The mission included the provision of professional vaccination services, an educational session on breastfeeding, maternal health and engaging health awareness discussions. The initiative also featured coordinated community outreach efforts and a multi-stakeholder approach to healthcare delivery, highlighting the importance of collaboration among medical institutions, civic groups and healthcare professionals in promoting overall community wellness.

This initiative demonstrated the power of collaborative healthcare delivery, bringing together medical institutions, civic organizations and healthcare professionals to provide essential vaccination services to the San Pedro community. The combination of preventive healthcare through vaccination and educational components about maternal health created a comprehensive approach to community wellness.

Medical and dental check-up mission

The “Loving Embrace” medical and dental mission in Pila, Laguna, was a comprehensive healthcare initiative that brought essential medical and dental services to the local community. This collaborative effort was made possible through the partnership of MOB Foundation Inc. and St. Michael's College of Laguna (SMCL).

The mission was executed by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including Dr. L. Sese, Dr. M. Borabien, Dr. C. Gacoba, and J. Acierto, RN. Their combined expertise and commitment ensured the efficient delivery of quality healthcare services to the residents of Pila.

Support from student volunteers of the SMCL Golden Z Club played a significant role in the success of the mission. Their active participation highlighted the importance of youth involvement in promoting community health and service. The mission included comprehensive medical check-ups, dental health examinations and treatments, health consultations and assessments and basic health education. In addition, the team conducted community health outreach activities to further extend their impact beyond clinical care.

This mission exemplified the positive outcomes that can be achieved through the collaboration of medical professionals and educational institutions. By bringing vital healthcare services to the Pila community and offering meaningful volunteer experiences to the Golden Z Club members, the initiative promoted both community wellness and civic engagement.

Vaccination and reproductive health talk mission

The “Loving Embrace” initiative at St. Michael's College of Laguna (SMCL) in Biñan City was a comprehensive reproductive health program that integrated expert medical services with educational outreach. This collaborative effort brought together the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS) through its Committee on Reproductive Health 2, MOB Foundation Inc., SMCL and the City Government of Biñan to promote reproductive wellness and awareness. The mission was led by a distinguished team of medical professionals, including Dr. L. Sese, Dr. Mari Regina Milagros Manabat, Dr. C. Gacoba, Dr. M. Borabien, and J. Acierto, RN. Their collective expertise played a central role in delivering high-quality healthcare and education throughout the event.

Program components included expert-led reproductive health talks, educational sessions and vaccination services for preventive healthcare and professional medical consultations. These were complemented by broader reproductive health awareness activities and the meaningful integration of academic and healthcare communities.

This initiative showcased the power of multi-sectoral collaboration among healthcare professionals, academic institutions and local government in addressing critical health issues. The involvement of POGS ensured that the SMCL community received accurate and specialized reproductive health information and services.
