Love and inclusion

In celebration of Love Month, the Zonta Club of Pampanga, Philippines, conducted an outreach activity titled “Love & Inclusive: Inspiring Young Hearts, Empowering Bright Futures” at the First Madapdap Christian Church in Marcos Village, Clark. The initiative, held in partnership with the church community led by Pastor Marisa Tanglao, aimed to uplift and empower Aeta youth through engagement, education and inspiration.

Guided by Zonta’s mission to build a better world for women and girls through service and advocacy, the activity promoted inclusivity, compassion and empowerment. It focused on nurturing self-worth, encouraging education and instilling hope among youth, particularly those from marginalized communities.

The program began with introductions, followed by inspiring talks from five Zonta members: Club President Gina Millan, Past Presidents Gilda Padua and Analiza Agbanglo, Vice President Leonor Bais and Director Agnes Garcia. Each shared personal experiences, highlighting perseverance, the importance of education and the value of dreaming big. Their stories resonated with participants, offering relatable examples of overcoming challenges.

A highlight of the program was the “Mirror, Mirror” activity led by Bais. Students were given small mirrors and asked what they saw. She used the exercise to encourage self-reflection and envisioning a brighter future, emphasizing that determination, hard work and self-belief can help achieve their dreams.

Students also shared their aspirations, creating a supportive space where goals were voiced and affirmed. Zonta members reinforced these messages by sharing their own journeys as examples of what is possible.

The program included a hygiene awareness session promoting proper self-care practices. Hygiene kits containing essential personal care items were distributed to 25 student participants, reinforcing the importance of health, dignity and confidence.

A showcase of Aeta culture highlighted the richness of their heritage, fostering pride in identity and respect for diversity. The event concluded with interactive activities and a shared meal, reflecting a spirit of unity and community.

Before closing, participants expressed strong understanding and engagement, demonstrating the program’s impact in delivering hope, inspiration and valuable life lessons.

Through this outreach, the Zonta Club of Pampanga reaffirmed its commitment to empowering vulnerable communities, especially young girls and children, by equipping them with knowledge, confidence and a vision for a better future.
