Zonta Club of Tuguegarao and POPCOM Region II empower young families through KATROPA Orientation

In a joint effort to promote responsible parenthood and strengthen family relationships among youth, the Zonta Club of Tuguegarao, Philippines, partnered with the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region II to conduct a KATROPA (Kalalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya) orientation for young couples.

The program focused on engaging young men in open discussions about health, family planning and responsible parenting—highlighting the vital role men play in building healthier families and communities. Participants were encouraged to reflect on their roles as partners and parents while sharing experiences and asking questions in a supportive environment.

The initiative reinforces the club's commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering young families through advocacy, education and service. It also showcases the importance of collaboration between civic organizations and government agencies in community-based development.

By supporting orientations like KATROPA, Tuguegarao City sets a progressive example of how inclusive education can help build informed, empowered families and future generations.
