In the news: Zonta International members gather in Seoul to discuss women’s leadership

More than 100 members and guests gathered in Seoul, South Korea, for the 2026 conference and general meeting of Zonta International District 32, Area 1, to discuss advancing advocacy, education and leadership opportunities for women and girls.

Held 16 May at the Grand Mercure Imperial Palace Seoul Gangnam, the event included club reports, a financial report, a special lecture and discussions on future service and advocacy priorities. Area 1 Chair Han Sun-ah emphasized the importance of Zonta’s mission amid ongoing political, economic and social challenges, while District 32 Governor Na Hyo-sook encouraged members to continue expanding the organization’s impact through service, scholarship programs and advocacy for women’s rights and education.

The conference also featured remarks from longtime leaders in Korea’s Zonta community, including former Area 1 Chair Lee Young-ja and Korea’s first female aviator and honorary governor of Zonta Korea, Kim Kyung-oh, who shared reflections on their experiences and commitment to empowering women and girls.
