The Zonta Club of Grand Island selected three outstanding women to receive the 2026 Yellow Rose award for leadership and service to the community. The club honors women whose talent, dedication, determination and caring hearts have made a difference in the lives of others and inspired a new generation to achieve to their greatest potential.
The Yellow Rose ceremony was held March 8, which is International Women’s Day, at the Buffalo Launch Club. The 2026 recipients are Kelly Gast, Sharon Long Nichols, and Mary Stang-Cooke. These Islanders come from various professions, including nonprofit, business and government.
