Zonta Club of Ogre supports local initiative Home Café Days

The Zonta Club of Ogre, Latvia, organized its monthly meeting as part of “Mājas kafejnīcu dienas” (Home Café Days). In this annual Latvian event, residents, particularly in rural areas, temporarily transform their homes, farms and other spaces into pop-up cafés.

Launched in 2021, the initiative aims to promote regional tourism and showcase local culture, traditions and hospitality through food. Menus often highlight family recipes and seasonal products sourced from home gardens and nearby producers.

Club members enjoyed homemade dishes and live performances by popular Latvian singers while coming together to plan the club’s future initiatives. The event also underscored the club's support for local entrepreneurs. Fittingly, the gathering took place at a café owned by club member Regina.
