Sharing love on Hearts Day

On 14 February, the Zonta Club of Antipolo, Philippines, marked Hearts Day with a meaningful community outreach activity entitled “Sharing Love on A Hearts Day cum Kamustahan.” The activity was held with the club’s adopted community, Samahan ng mga Kababaihan ng Sitio Casunugan, Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City, which is composed of 45 families.

Members of the club visited the community, bringing hearts and flowers as symbols of love, care and solidarity. The outreach aimed not only to provide assistance but also to strengthen relationships through personal interaction and genuine engagement with the women and their families.

As part of the activity, free haircut services were offered to the beneficiaries. The club also distributed food, candies and spaghetti packs to the families. These simple yet thoughtful gestures were warmly received and brought smiles to both children and adults.

A kamustahan session was conducted to allow the women to openly share their experiences, concerns and hopes. This exchange provided the club with valuable insights into the current situation of the community and reinforced the importance of listening as part of service. A session of singing and dancing concluded the event.

The Zonta Club of Antipolo remains committed to sustaining its partnership with the women of Sitio Casunugan and to continuing programs that promote empowerment, connection and community well-being. The club continues to uphold its mission of uplifting women and families in its adopted communities.
