International Women's Day: Women Rising in the Park

Zonta Gold Coast Inc, Australia, celebrated International Women’s Day and Zonta Yellow Rose Month with a warm and uplifting community event, Music in the Park, bringing members, guests and young leaders together to reflect, connect and celebrate the achievements of women.

“When we give a yellow rose, we symbolize belief in one another and in the power of women supporting women,” organizers noted.

Two interactive activities brought the theme of advocacy to life.

The “Why I Support Women & Girls” Intention Tree invited participants to write personal commitments on colored cards reflecting the values of International Women’s Day and Zonta’s global campaigns. As the cards were added, the tree grew into a powerful visual symbol of collective action and shared purpose.

In the Wool Weave Connection Activity, participants formed circles and shared their pledges while passing a ball of wool. The activity created a woven web, symbolizing solidarity, connection and the collective strength of women working together to drive change.
