Scholarship recipients shine in Fredericksburg

The Zonta Club of Fredericksburg, TX, USA hosted its Annual Scholarship Banquet on 19 May at the Western Edge Restaurant, recognizing ten outstanding young women for their academic achievements and leadership potential.

The 2024–25 scholarship recipients—Karsaan Baethge, Nayomi Cordova, Morgyn Granville, Deidre Henderson, Brooke Johns, Juana Leon, Hannah Nielsen, Brooklyn Monaco, Katherine Pehl and Kendra Sanchez—were each awarded US$1,000, along with a yellow rose, a certificate, and a graduation cap-shaped box of See’s candies, donated by club member Marti Barth.

The club also honored Marley Michel with its Young Woman in Leadership Award during the evening celebration. A total of US$11,000 in scholarships was distributed, reflecting Zonta’s commitment to empowering the next generation of women through education and service.
