Enabling gender equity through vocational training and skills development program

From hope to opportunity, the Zonta Club I of Colombo, Sri Lanka, strives to empower women through education and vocational training initiatives that support sustainable livelihoods.

The club partners with the Foundation of Goodness at the Heartbeat Empowerment Centre in Seenigama to provide a six-month vocational training program for 28 women and girls from vulnerable backgrounds. The participants expressed deep gratitude for the sponsorship.

The program began in July 2025, and the beneficiaries completed the course and graduated in January 2026. Six Zontians traveled to Seenigama to meet the women and girls supported through the training.

Together with the Foundation of Goodness, the club aims to provide life-changing opportunities that help women and girls achieve gender equity.
