Empowering education equality: Free coding and A.I. training for underprivileged children
The Zonta Club of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, Advocacy Committee, in collaboration with Preface School of Technology, successfully completed a coding and A.I. training course for 14 ethnically minority children from underprivileged families in Hong Kong. Over three consecutive Saturday afternoons, participants gained hands-on experience in coding, explored cutting-edge A.I. language and image generation tools, and created their own computer games centered on themes such as “gender equality,” “challenging gender stereotypes” and “empowering women and girls.”
Thanks to the generous support of Deloitte Foundation Limited and Ernst & Young Group Limited, each child was gifted a laptop upon completing the course. This initiative not only equipped the children with valuable digital skills but also ensured they have the tools to access equal opportunities in education and technology, bridging the gap in education inequality and empowering them to thrive in the digital age.
