Empowering girls through art, culture and history
The Zonta Club of Dhaka IV, Bangladesh, proudly celebrated International Mother Language Day, honoring the nation's linguistic heritage and the sacrifices made to preserve the Bangla language.
The event featured an art competition and cultural performances, including short skits, dance and recitations by students from Gulshan Ladies Community Club School and Gulshan Literacy Club School. Through their performances, students depicted the struggles and triumphs of the Language Movement, reinforcing the importance and legacy of the Bangla language.
Winners of the art competition were recognized with certificates and trophies, celebrating their creativity and contribution to the event.
Club President Naheed Shaheen addressed attendees, emphasizing the significance of preserving and promoting native languages as pillars of cultural identity.
The event was attended by Past Governor Naheed Moyeen, Past Area Director Munira Naim, past presidents, Zonta members as well as parents and teachers, making it a meaningful gathering in recognition of language and heritage preservation.
