Empowering mothers and immunization kick-off
The Zonta Club of Makati-Central Business District, Philippines, in partnership with the Pasay City Health Office and the Rotary Club of Manila Supreme 198, led two major events in early August to promote maternal empowerment and childhood immunization.
On 4 August, the Cuneta Astrodome served as the venue for the Mother’s Congress, a special gathering designed to equip mothers with vital knowledge on immunization. The gathering celebrated the vital role of mothers in safeguarding their families’ health and encouraged proactive measures to protect children from preventable diseases.
The following day, partners convened at Jose Rizal Elementary School to launch the Immunization Kick-Off, reinforcing the message that every child has the right to protection from vaccine-preventable illnesses. The program called for community-wide participation in routine immunization as a means to secure a healthier, safer future for children.
