District 31 hosts 7th annual district conference

The 7th Zonta International District 31 Conference was held 19 and 20 October in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

There were over 300 attendees, including 251 members, 60 Z and Golden Z students and some guests.

There were three outstanding program events that were different from previous events. One was Z and Golden Z Clubs parallel event. They had two workshops focused on the role of women in sustainable city planning. From students’ reports, they said through this workshop they were able to develop a deeper understanding of what it takes to create a sustainable community and how people, especially women, can be a part of this.

Second was the Open Forum section which provided members with the opportunity to talk with International President Susanne von Bassewitz. Not only did this bring the members closer together, it also allowed members to better understand Zonta International.

Third was the celebration of the Zonta centennial anniversary by giving Centennial Recognition Awards and highlighting the CAEC contributions. There were awesome performances from three areas.

At the end of the conference, members threw yellow roses toward the sky outside the venue as a happy ending.
