Zonta Club of Dhaka III celebrates International Women's Day and Zonta Rose Month

The Zonta Club of Dhaka III, Bangladesh, commemorated International Women’s Day and Zonta Rose Month with a celebration at the WVA Auditorium, joined by parents and students of Shishu Bikash Kendro.

The event highlighted the school’s 30-year legacy of providing education to underprivileged children and its continued role as a pillar of opportunity within the community.

A central feature of the celebration was the recognition of a group of mothers honored with the title “Ratna Garbha,” meaning mothers of precious children. Many of the women work as household helpers while their spouses are employed as rickshaw drivers. Despite financial challenges, they have remained committed to ensuring their children receive an education.

Their efforts have resulted in children who are now educated and employed, reflecting the impact of perseverance and the value placed on learning. Organizers noted that while economic hardship can present obstacles, determination and mindset play a critical role in shaping future outcomes.

Students were given school bags to support their education, while the honored mothers received modest financial tokens in recognition of their dedication and resilience.

The celebration also acknowledged Zonta Rose Month with a cake at the celebration.

The event concluded with an iftar gathering, where attendees shared a meal with fellowship and gratitude.
