Texas Women's Foundations meets Zonta Club of Dallas at Spring Fling

The Zonta Club of Dallas, TX, USA, welcomed Karen Hughes White, president and CEO of the Texas Women’s Foundation (TWF), as the featured speaker for its annual Spring Fling social event.

Karen, who leads one of the state’s most prominent organizations focused on gender equity, spoke about TWF’s mission to raise funds for statewide research, advocacy and grantmaking that expands economic and leadership opportunities for women, girls and their families.

Throughout the evening, attendees engaged in dialogue around the current state of women in Texas, highlighting key statistics:

• Texas ranks 47th out of 50 states across 25 indicators of women's economic security.

• Women in Texas earn 83 cents for every dollar earned by men.

• Just 4% of women in Texas hold jobs with a median annual income above US$75,000.

The event underscored the shared commitment of both TWF and the Zonta Club to advancing gender equity. By investing in local communities, supporting education and career pathways, and advocating for women’s rights, both organizations continue to make meaningful progress toward a better future for women and girls in Texas.
