Zonta Club of Laguna provides crisis relief and healthcare for vulnerable communities

In response to the widespread devastation caused by Typhoon Kristine, the Zonta Club of Laguna, Philippines, mobilized critical relief and health interventions, delivering immediate aid and long-term recovery support to severely affected families across Laguna and Batangas.

In San Pedro City, the club distributed free coco lumber to 200 families. The materials were used to build temporary pathways in flood-prone areas, prevent disease exposure such as leptospirosis and help families repair damaged homes and roofs. The initiative addressed both safety and rebuilding needs in flood-impacted communities.

Meanwhile, in Talisay, Batangas, the club partnered with MOB Foundation Inc to conduct a relief operation for 100 typhoon-affected families. Led by healthcare professionals including Dr. M. Borabien and Dr. C. Gacoba, the effort combined food and medical aid, including health checkups and assessments—offering a comprehensive response to urgent physical and emotional needs.

Furthering its commitment to healthcare, Zontians organized the "Loving Embrace" Medical Mission in Batangas City, reaching 145 families. The initiative offered free medical checkups, deworming services and an educational lecture on dengue prevention. Partnering with PPS STC and CWL, the mission integrated direct care with preventative education.
