2030 – Climate Act Project: Zonta Special Edition

The journey toward climate justice took a powerful step forward on 1 March with the launch of the 2030 – Climate Act Project: Zonta Special Edition. This groundbreaking program is not a single event, but the start of a global series of immersive experiences designed to inspire, educate and empower communities on the intersection of gender inequality and the climate crisis.

Over the coming months, thousands of participants are expected to engage in the project, which aims to reach nearly 5,000 beneficiaries. Developed as a special collaboration between Zonta International and the 2030 – Climate Act Project, the initiative places a strong emphasis on how climate change disproportionately affects women and marginalized communities.

Using theatrical storytelling, sensory effects and interactive simulations, the experience transports participants into the heart of real-world climate conflicts. Sessions are limited to 15 to 20 attendees and are led by trained actors who guide participants through emotionally charged scenarios enhanced by synchronized lighting and sound.

This is more than just an immersive event—it’s a call to action. The goal if for people to leave feeling informed, moved and motivated to make a difference.

Each session includes an educational narrative woven into the script, highlighting the structural inequalities that amplify the effects of climate change. Afterward, Red Cross educators lead guided debriefings to help participants process the experience and explore ways to advocate for change in their own communities.

The Zonta Special Edition marks a significant evolution in the 2030 – Climate Act Project’s mission to foster climate awareness through storytelling. Organizers hope the ripple effects of this initiative will drive sustained action for a more equitable and sustainable future.
