International Women's Day 2026
The Zonta Club of Brewerton, NY - Friends for Equality, USA, celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) and Zonta Rose Day by launching a "Recognize the Remarkable" campaign—a unique initiative, bridging local outreach with digital engagement. To kick off Women’s History Month, members hand-delivered 54 yellow silk roses, each labeled with the Zonta International website and tag line, to women in neighborhood businesses. For many, this was a heartfelt introduction to IWD and Zonta’s work, sparking meaningful conversations.
The celebration continued online with a community-driven nomination process to spotlight champions of the Zonta mission who are not yet members. From a pool of dedicated supporters, the club honored Aubry Ludington, Katie Haberer and Marion Rodriguez for their tireless advocacy for women and girls. Each honoree will receive a commemorative certificate at a club meeting, and the club donated in their name to the Zonta Foundation for Women.
The results were transformative: social media engagement skyrocketed by 668%, attracting a wave of new followers and proving the power of grassroots visibility. Building on this momentum, the club will host a free Community Membership Bingo ("Z-I-N-G-O") in late March to continue sharing the Zonta story and welcoming new voices to the mission.
