Zonta Club of Central Tuguegarao's advocacy in National Anti-Trafficking and VAWC Roll-Out
The Zonta Club of Central Tuguegarao, Philippines, through its representative Mary Corinne Postrado Mamba, reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the rights and welfare of women and girls by actively participating in the Roll-Out of the Guidelines on the Institutionalization and Strengthening of Regional and Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (R/LCAT-VAWC) held on 26–29 August 2025 in Angeles City.
The four-day training, organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department of Justice (DOJ), gathered representatives from various government agencies and civil society organizations to align local efforts with national strategies in combating trafficking in persons, violence against women and children (VAWC) and online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).
Zontian Mary Corinne Postrado Mamba, who received a Certificate of Completion from the DILG, joined discussions on key legislation such as RA 11862 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022), RA 9262 (Anti-VAWC Act), RA 11313 (Safe Spaces Act) and RA 11930 (OSAEC and CSAEM Act). The sessions also included action planning, recovery programs for trafficked persons, and reporting mechanisms for regional and local committees.
As an active member of the club, Zontian Corinne's participation reflects the organization’s steadfast advocacy in “building a better world for women and girls”, ensuring that grassroots action, local government collaboration and community engagement remain central in addressing gender-based violence and exploitation.
The Zonta club continues to be recognized for its strong involvement in service and advocacy initiatives that empower women and girls in Cagayan and beyond, reinforcing its role as a partner in national and local efforts to eliminate violence against women and children.
