Zonta Club of Alytus attends charity brunch event
On 6 December, Lithuanian Zontians participated for the second consecutive year in the charitable brunch organized by the Zonta Club of Vilnius. The gathering served not only as a warm pre-holiday celebration for the Zonta community but also as an opportunity to raise funds for the Blessed J. Matulaitis Parish Care Home in Mielagėnai, which the Vilnius club supports.
The event was held at the festively decorated Grand Hotel Vilnius, Curio Collection by Hilton. District 13 Governor Rūta Jasionienė was among the attendees.
The hotel’s holiday décor, created by florist and decorator Mantas Petruškevičius, added to the festive atmosphere. Now based in Paris, Petruškevičius returns to Vilnius each year to design Christmas displays for some of the city’s most iconic locations. The Grand Hotel Vilnius, located opposite the Archcathedral and near the capital’s celebrated Christmas tree, is one of his signature projects.
Petruškevičius, who has decorated the hotel for many years, noted that the greatest challenge is creating something fresh and unexpected. This year’s design—featuring rich classic colors paired with dramatic Venetian carnival masks—evoked luxury, mystery and theatrical elegance, enhancing the ambiance of the charitable gathering.
