Zonta Club of Hualien donates NT$300,000 to aid the disaster-stricken areas
In a strong display of solidarity and compassion, the Zonta Club of Hualien, Taiwan, and the Zonta Club of Taoyuan, Taiwan, together with sister clubs across Taiwan, donated NT$300,000 in lunch box relief funds to assist residents in flood-stricken Guangfu Township as they rebuild their homes.
When severe flooding struck Guangfu Township, Zonta Club of Hualien Club President Liping Peng, though abroad at the time, immediately contributed NT$20,000 on behalf of her club to Ji’an Township Mayor Shuzhen You to meet the urgent need for meal assistance. She also rallied fellow members from the Hualien club and partner clubs to join the relief effort.
President Peng expressed deep gratitude for the generosity and swift response of Zonta members. In addition to the funds raised, Zonta Club of New Taipei Club President Huilan Jiang donated 725 boxes of bottled water and 28 boxes of dry food for residents in need. The outpouring of support from Zonta sisters across the country continues to sustain recovery efforts, ensuring that the “Zonta spirit of love” remains present in the disaster area.
President Peng emphasized that residents of Guangfu Township have suffered significant property losses due to the flooding. She affirmed that the Zonta Club of Hualien will continue to collaborate with sister clubs and donors to aid in rebuilding homes and restoring normal life for the affected families.
