Zonta Club Antipolo: Advancing the fight against cervical cancer
True to its mission of empowering and protecting women, the Zonta Club of
Antipolo, Philippines, once again took a strong step in advancing women’s health through its
Free Cervical Cancer Awareness and Screening Program held on 11 July
at Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo City.
In partnership with the City Government of Antipolo, through the City Health
Office, this initiative opened doors for women—especially those with
limited access to healthcare services—to receive free, life-saving screening and
health education. Cervical cancer, though preventable and treatable when detected
early, remains a silent threat to many Filipino women. For this reason, the club continues to make it a priority advocacy, ensuring that no woman is left
behind in the fight against this disease.
The program was not just about medical intervention, but also about raising
awareness, breaking stigma and empowering women with knowledge.
Participants were provided with vital information on prevention, early detection and
treatment options. They also experienced the care and support of an
organization that truly cares for their well-being.
For the women who came that day, the event was more than a health service—it
was a message of hope. It reminded them that they are not alone in their journey,
that there are groups like Zonta Club Antipolo and partners in government who are
willing to stand by them, advocating for their right to health and well-being.
Together with its partners, the club continues to work toward a future where every
woman has the access, knowledge and courage to protect her health—proving once
again that women’s health is community health.
