Accelerating action against child marriage
In celebration of Zonta Rose Day and International Women’s Day, the Zonta Club of Dhaka IV, Bangladesh, hosted an impactful advocacy session with students from classes IX to XII at Hashimukh School, focusing on the importance of gender equality and the urgent need to end child marriage.
The session encouraged students to actively engage in discussions on how they can help accelerate action against child marriage and create positive change in their communities. Students shared ideas, asked questions and explored strategies to protect themselves from violence and the long-term consequences of early marriage.
As part of the event, students were presented with biographies of two incredible women—Begum Rokeya and Begum Sultana Kamal—both of whom dedicated their lives to advancing the rights of women and girls. The powerful stories will ignite the students' passion for progress, motivating them to dream big and create meaningful change.
