Remarkable chief executive and lawyer shares her powerful story

Anna Segall is the chief executive of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Before joining WAGGGS in 2020, she worked with the UN, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and other international development NGOs. As a lawyer, Anna is passionate about the rights of women and girls, refugees and victims of armed conflict. She has worked in human rights and humanitarian law with the Red Cross. She was also the director of international standards and legal affairs with UNESCO. Anna was the director of legal affairs and the director of field operations (Jordan) with the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees, which provides protection and assistance to Palestinian refugees in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.
