International Committee Chairs Bios

Ina Wäßerlingt
Chair, Bylaws & Resolutions Committee
Zonta Club of Erfurt, Germany

Since 2001, Ina Wäßerling has been a Zonta member, holding almost every position at the club and district levels. She has served as an international director and a member of the International Nominating Committee. Since 2022, she has also served as a member of the International Bylaws & Resolution Committee, gaining even more insight into Zonta's governance structure.

An architect by profession, Ina has often dealt with legal documents. Her experiences as co-chair of the governance workstream and board member have prepared her to implement structural changes in the governing documents.

Britt Gustawsson
Chair, Policies & Manual Working Group
Zonta Club of London, England

Born in Sweden, Britt Gustawsson lived in the United Kingdom for 27 years before returning to Sweden. She has been a Zonta member since 1993 and is a member of the Zonta Club of London.

Britt she served as risk manager from 2014 to 2018. She has also served as a member of the Zonta International Finance and Investment committees and the International Nomination Committee. Britt helped set up the international manuals and policies committee and has been chairing it since.

Britt has had a long career in senior management at privately owned multinational companies in Sweden and the U.K. She has worked globally in risk management, compliance and dispute resolution in multiple jurisdictions.

Helen Bowie
Chair, Advocacy Committee
Zonta Club of Wellington, New Zealand

In 2010, Helen Bowie joined the Zonta Club of Wellington, New Zealand. She has a strong passion for advocacy and was appointed the district advocacy chair for the 2018-2020 and 2020-2022 biennia. In addition, Helen has served as an international advocacy committee member in the 2022-2024 Biennium.

In her professional capacity, Helen is a seasoned lawyer with more than 40 years of experience.

Helen Bowie
Chair, United Nations Committee
Zonta Club of Essex County, USA

As chair of the Zonta International UN Committee, Pamela Morgan leads teams of representatives in New York, Geneva, Vienna, Paris, Africa and Bangkok. She also serves as Co-chair for NGO CSW/NY, a prominent coalition of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that work together to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls globally. Their annual NGO CSW Forum is the largest civil society convening at the UN Headquarters. As the co-chair of NGO CSW/NY, Pamela plays a crucial role in leading and coordinating the organization's efforts to advocate for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. Her role is vital in ensuring that NGO CSW/NY continues to be a powerful advocate for gender equality and women's rights on the global stage.

Pamela is the Executive Director of Woman In Media – Newark, a not-for-profit organization which she founded that advocates for, and educates the community about issues affecting women globally using film, video and new media as its platform. Their flagship event is their annual Women’s International Film Festival, where they screen an international array of independent films by and about women.

A retired educational administrator, Pamela worked in public education for more than 35 years, with 20 years focused on the administration and implementation of instructional technology. She has served on numerous committees of the New Jersey State Department of Education's Instructional Technology division and contributed to two of the State's Educational Technology plans. Pamela gave testimony before a U.S. Senate sub-committee investigating funding for instructional technology and performed award-winning research on the effective implementation of community-based telecommunications networks.

Anita Schnetzer-Spranger
Chair, Council of Europe Committee
Zonta Club of Mainz, Germany

Anita Schnetzer-Spranger joined Zonta at the age of 29 and is a member of the Zonta Club of Mainz, Germany. She has served Zonta on all levels and has been chair of the Council of Europe (CoE) Committee since 2016. As head of delegation, Anita represents Zonta at the Conference of INGOs, the official voice of Europe’s civil society at the CoE in Strasburg, France.

Anita aims to support Zonta members in their advocacy efforts, training them on the relevance of the CoE’s standards of gender equality and women’s rights and the participatory status the CoE has granted Zonta.

Christina Rylander Bergqvist
Chair, Zonta Says NO Working Group
Zonta Club of Sundsvall, Sweden

Christina Rylander Bergqvist joined the Zonta Club of Sundsvall, Sweden, in 1989. She served as the District 21 Governor in 2016-2018 and was an international director during the 2018-2020 Biennium.

Christina has more than 45 years of experience in leadership and many years of experience living and working in countries with different cultures. She is a business consultant skilled at developing, structuring and carrying out change processes. Qualified in leadership, communication and sales, she knows how important it is to motivate people to grow and achieve results. Christina places high demands on herself and others, and she considers respect and honesty to be matters of course.

Carole Theobald
Chair, Zonta Says NOW Working Group
Zonta Club of  Perth Inc, Australia

Carole Theobald is passionate about gender equality and climate justice. She has been an active Zontian for 25 years. When Carole realized how badly the climate crisis impacted women and girls, she just had to do something – and the result is the Zonta Says NOW to Gender-Equal Climate Action.

Carole was born in Scotland and lived in Malta, Hong Kong and England before moving to Australia. She holds environmental health and science communication degrees and has worked across the UK, Australia and Indonesia. Carole has led state, national and international projects and has worked in government, academia and private practice. Her diverse career spans environmental chemistry, medical administration, environmental health, food safety consulting and leading major transport initiatives. Recently, she coordinated programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Western Australia's transport sector. She excels at bringing teams together to 'get stuff done.'

Since leaving full-time work, Carole has dedicated her time to leading the International Working Group for Zonta Says NOW and volunteering with Red Cross Emergency Services in Western Australia.

Daniela Pedrini
Chair, Amelia Earhart Fellowship Committee
Zonta e-Club of Italy, Italy

Daniela Pedrini was born in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (Lucca), Italy. She was awarded an Amelia Earhart Fellowship in 2013 and 2014 for her Ph.D. program at the University of Pisa, where she obtained her degree in hollow cathodes for space electric propulsion. Since 2015, she has been cathode responsible at SITAEL, an Italian private company developing satellites.

In 2017, Daniela founded the first Zonta e-club, the Zonta e-club of Italy 1, serving as club president for two biennia. She then became chair of District 28's Amelia Earhart (AE) Fellowship Committee and a member of the International Translations Committee for the Italian language. She organized the first Amelia Earhart Reunion in Basel in 2019 and AE Fellows award ceremonies in major Italian universities.

Daniela was a member of the Amelia Earhart Fellowship Committee in the previous biennium and took the chair role in 2024.

Deb Lal
Chair, Membership Committee
Zonta Club of South Puget Sound, USA

Deb Lal joined Zonta in 2008 and has held various positions. She has served as her club's treasurer, director, vice president, president and foundation president. Her district positions have included area vice director, lieutenant governor and governor. She joined the Zonta Club of Coos Bay Area and is currently a member of the Zonta Club of South Puget Sound.

A retired business owner, Deb lives on a small island with her husband, Arvin. She has four children and seven grandchildren. She lives by her motto: love what you do and do what you love.

Berit Lindau
Chair,  Young Professionals Sub-Committee
Zonta e-Club of Germany, Germany

Berit Lindau entered the Zonta world in her twenties with the intent to found a Zonta e-Club with a group of graduate students and young professionals in Germany in 2016 and officially joined Zonta as the founding president of the Zonta e-Club of Germany in 2019. She holds a Ph.D. in social and cognitive psychology and works in an administrative leadership position at the University of Excellence within the German Excellence Strategy Program. She had her first child during her club presidency.

As a passionate young professional when she joined Zonta, Berit was delighted to strengthen the perspective of young Zonta members at the international level by chairing the Young Talents Working Group in the 2022-2024 Biennium. At that time, she had her second child. She is honored to chair the Young Professionals Sub-Committee as part of the Membership Committee in this biennium and enthralled by the inspiring women she continues to meet by serving in this position

Brittany Vaughan
Chair, Students Sub-Committee
Zonta Club of Burbank Area, USA

Britt Vaughan is an accomplished fundraising professional and international leader passionate about advancing Zonta's mission. She has contributed significantly to building a better world for women and girls through her dedicated service.

As the development director at Junior Achievement of Southern California, Britt's commitment to the nonprofit sector extends professionally and personally. Outside of her professional and philanthropic pursuits, she channels her boundless curiosity into enriching experiences such as travel, continuous learning, hiking and food. Britt's passion for travel has taken her to diverse cultures across the globe, enriching her understanding and approach to leadership. She also loves entertaining and creating memorable experiences for friends and colleagues.

Michelle "Shelley" Schultz
Coordinator, Twinning Program
Zonta Club of Mankato, USA

Since 2003, Michelle "Shelley" Schultz has been a Zonta member as part of the Zonta Club of Makato. She has served as club president, area director, governor and foundation ambassador. She is honored to co-chair the International Twinning Committee with Raise Valve for the 2024-2026 Biennium.

Shelley, a proud mother of three daughters and seven grandchildren, is a woman of many talents. Her professional journey has seen her in roles such as an elementary and middle school teacher, a high school principal and the president of a Catholic school. She has also lent her expertise as an educational consultant. In addition to her professional achievements, Shelley is deeply involved in volunteer and advocacy work. She is a hospice volunteer, a YMCA Women's Leadership Conference Committee member and an SSND Learning Center Board representative.

Mari McKenzie
Chair, Zonta International & Zonta Foundation for Women Finance Committee
Zonta e-Club of Silicon Valley, USA

Mari McKenzie has been a member of Zonta since 1982 and held the position of international treasurer/secretary from 2018 to 2022. Since 2023, she has been serving as the chair of the International Finance Committee. In addition, she has been an active board member and advocate for Michigan's first domestic violence shelter since 1983.

Born to count, Mari's love for math, science and sports prepared her for her dream job of 36 years as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and partner in a regional CPA firm specializing in auditing and business and tax consulting for not-for-profit organizations.

Anne K. Walker
Risk Manager, Zonta International & Zonta Foundation for Women Finance and Investment Committees
Zonta Club of Manawatu, New Zealand

Anne K. Walker joined Zonta in 2000, and after serving all positions on the club and district levels, she was elected governor during the 2008-2010 Biennium. Utilizing her professional experience in risk and assurance, she was appointed risk manager for Zonta International and the Zonta Foundation for Women in 2018 and has continued to serve in successive biennia, supporting the board and staff.

From 2014 to 2018, Anne served on the Zonta Foundation for Women's Advisory Committee and has been an active member of the investment committee since 2018. She continues to serve Zonta, believing that investment in the best governance possible ensures the continued achievement of the mission of Zonta International in a world that presents many challenges and opportunities for women and girls.

Brandy Harrington
Chair,  Zonta International and Zonta Foundation for Women Investment Committee
Zonta Club of St. Charles-Geneva-Batavia, USA

Passionate about helping people, whether professionally or personally, Brandy Harrington has been a member of the Zonta Club of St. Charles-Geneva-Batavia since 2004. She has served in all club leadership capacities and on the district board. She is currently the lieutenant governor for District 6 and her club's treasurer. 

Brandy is a Certified Financial Planner and business owner in her professional life. She helps individuals plan for their future, achieve their goals and guide them through various transition points.

Brandy is excited about Zonta's future and the opportunity to serve on the International Investment Committee. When she is not at work, Brandy enjoys spending time with her partner and two adult children and traveling. She also loves to share her Zonta Spirit with anyone who will listen!

Desirae Kirby
Chair, Zonta Foundation for Women Development Committee
Zonta Club of Rotorua, New Zealand

Desirae Kirby joined Zonta in 1992 and has held leadership roles in Australia and New Zealand. As a past governor and Zonta Foundation for Women Development Committee member, she believes the foundation is critical to Zonta’s future. She is also a Zonta representative on New Zealand’s UN Women’s Empowerment Principles Committee and the National Council of Women’s Climate Change & Environment Hub.

Desirae works as a chemical engineer in environmental sustainability and has expertise in resource management. She was the first female President of Engineers Australia (Burnett Regional Group) and has served as the chair of her national industry technical association.

Lori Robinson
Chair, Convention 2026 Committee
Zonta Club of Brampton-Caledon, Canada

Lori Robinson has been a Zontian for 25 years. She was District 4 Governor in the 2016-2018 Biennium and previously served as chair of the Zonta International Z and Golden Z Club Committee, lieutenant governor, area director and co-chairman of her district Amelia Earhart Fellowship committee. She was also a member of the international Zonta Spirit Working Group.

Lori is currently on a two-year contract as HR and special project manager for a family-owned and operated transportation company. She previously worked as a human resources health and safety manager and a part-time faculty member at Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. Lori has been on many galas and fundraising committees in her community, raising more than CA$1.5 million for various charities over the past 15 years. She is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Brampton-Caledon Community Foundation.

Lori and her husband, Garry, have lived in the Caledon area for alm ost 40 years where they raised their two sons. Her family has always supported her community volunteer work and participated in many events. This year, she became "Grandma" to twins in June.

Ute Scholz
Chair, Nominating Committee
Zonta Club of Verden, Germany

Past International President Ute Scholz has been a Zontian for more than 32 years. She is based in Germany and is a member of the Zonta Club of Verden in Northern Germany, not far away from Hamburg.

Ute is a graduated lawyer and has served in Zonta on all levels. Her motto of life is: “Stay flexible in your hips.” After 22 years as a legal adviser and chief executive in public administration, she now works freelance as a business coach and mediator. Her goal is for Zonta to be known worldwide as a reliable and sustainable human rights organization focusing on women and girls whose members are engaged and proud to be Zontian.
