International Committee Chairs Bios

Ina Wäßerlingt
Chair, Bylaws & Resolutions Committee
Zonta Club of Erfurt, Germany

Since 2001, Ina Wäßerling has been a Zonta member, holding almost every position at the club and district levels. She has served as an international director and a member of the International Nominating Committee. Since 2022, she has also served as a member of the International Bylaws & Resolution Committee, gaining even more insight into Zonta's governance structure.

An architect by profession, Ina has often dealt with legal documents. Her experiences as co-chair of the governance workstream and board member have prepared her to implement structural changes in the governing documents.

Britt Gustawsson
Chair, Policies & Manual Working Group
Zonta Club of London, England

Born in Sweden, Britt Gustawsson lived in the United Kingdom for 27 years before returning to Sweden. She has been a Zonta member since 1993 and is a member of the Zonta Club of London.

Britt she served as risk manager from 2014 to 2018. She has also served as a member of the Zonta International Finance and Investment committees and the International Nomination Committee. Britt helped set up the international manuals and policies committee and has been chairing it since.

Britt has had a long career in senior management at privately owned multinational companies in Sweden and the U.K. She has worked globally in risk management, compliance and dispute resolution in multiple jurisdictions.

Helen Bowie
Chair, Advocacy Committee
Zonta Club of Wellington, New Zealand

In 2010, Helen Bowie joined the Zonta Club of Wellington, New Zealand. She has a strong passion for advocacy and was appointed the district advocacy chair for the 2018-2020 and 2020-2022 biennia. In addition, Helen has served as an international advocacy committee member in the 2022-2024 Biennium.

In her professional capacity, Helen is a seasoned lawyer with more than 40 years of experience.

Helen Bowie
Chair, United Nations Committee - New York
Zonta Club of Essex County, USA

As chair of the Zonta International UN Committee, Pamela Morgan leads teams of representatives in New York, Geneva, Vienna, Paris, Africa and Bangkok. She also serves as Co-chair for NGO CSW/NY, a prominent coalition of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that work together to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls globally. Their annual NGO CSW Forum is the largest civil society convening at the UN Headquarters. As the co-chair of NGO CSW/NY, Pamela plays a crucial role in leading and coordinating the organization's efforts to advocate for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. Her role is vital in ensuring that NGO CSW/NY continues to be a powerful advocate for gender equality and women's rights on the global stage.

Pamela is the Executive Director of Woman In Media – Newark, a not-for-profit organization which she founded that advocates for, and educates the community about issues affecting women globally using film, video and new media as its platform. Their flagship event is their annual Women’s International Film Festival, where they screen an international array of independent films by and about women.

A retired educational administrator, Pamela worked in public education for more than 35 years, with 20 years focused on the administration and implementation of instructional technology. She has served on numerous committees of the New Jersey State Department of Education's Instructional Technology division and contributed to two of the State's Educational Technology plans. Pamela gave testimony before a U.S. Senate sub-committee investigating funding for instructional technology and performed award-winning research on the effective implementation of community-based telecommunications networks.

Anita Schnetzer-Spranger
Chair, Council of Europe Committee
Zonta Club of Mainz, Germany

Anita Schnetzer-Spranger joined Zonta at the age of 29 and is a member of the Zonta Club of Mainz, Germany. She has served Zonta on all levels and has been chair of the Council of Europe (CoE) Committee since 2016. As head of delegation, Anita represents Zonta at the Conference of INGOs, the official voice of Europe’s civil society at the CoE in Strasburg, France.

Anita aims to support Zonta members in their advocacy efforts, training them on the relevance of the CoE’s standards of gender equality and women’s rights and the participatory status the CoE has granted Zonta.

Daniela Pedrini
Chair, Amelia Earhart Fellowship Committee
Zonta e-Club of Italy, Italy

Daniela Pedrini was born in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (Lucca), Italy. She was awarded an Amelia Earhart Fellowship in 2013 and 2014 for her Ph.D. program at the University of Pisa, where she obtained her degree in hollow cathodes for space electric propulsion. Since 2015, she has been cathode responsible at SITAEL, an Italian private company developing satellites.

In 2017, Daniela founded the first Zonta e-club, the Zonta e-club of Italy 1, serving as club president for two biennia. She then became chair of District 28's Amelia Earhart (AE) Fellowship Committee and a member of the International Translations Committee for the Italian language. She organized the first Amelia Earhart Reunion in Basel in 2019 and AE Fellows award ceremonies in major Italian universities.

Daniela was a member of the Amelia Earhart Fellowship Committee in the previous biennium and took the chair role in 2024.

Berit Lindau
Chair,  Young Professionals Sub-Committee
Zonta e-Club of Germany, Germany

Berit Lindau entered the Zonta world in her twenties with the intent to found a Zonta e-Club with a group of graduate students and young professionals in Germany in 2016 and officially joined Zonta as the founding president of the Zonta e-Club of Germany in 2019. She holds a Ph.D. in social and cognitive psychology and works in an administrative leadership position at the University of Excellence within the German Excellence Strategy Program. She had her first child during her club presidency.

As a passionate young professional when she joined Zonta, Berit was delighted to strengthen the perspective of young Zonta members at the international level by chairing the Young Talents Working Group in the 2022-2024 Biennium. At that time, she had her second child. She is honored to chair the Young Professionals Sub-Committee as part of the Membership Committee in this biennium and enthralled by the inspiring women she continues to meet by serving in this position

Brittany Vaughan
Chair, Students Sub-Committee

Britt Vaughan is an accomplished fundraising professional and international leader passionate about advancing Zonta's mission. She has contributed significantly to building a better world for women and girls through her dedicated service.

As the development director at Junior Achievement of Southern California, Britt's commitment to the nonprofit sector extends professionally and personally. Outside of her professional and philanthropic pursuits, she channels her boundless curiosity into enriching experiences such as travel, continuous learning, hiking and food. Britt's passion for travel has taken her to diverse cultures across the globe, enriching her understanding and approach to leadership. She also loves entertaining and creating memorable experiences for friends and colleagues.

Michelle "Shelley" Schultz
Coordinator, Twinning Program
Zonta Club of Mankato, USA

Since 2003, Michelle "Shelley" Schultz has been a Zonta member as part of the Zonta Club of Makato. She has served as club president, area director, governor and foundation ambassador. She is honored to co-chair the International Twinning Committee with Raise Valve for the 2024-2026 Biennium.

Shelley, a proud mother of three daughters and seven grandchildren, is a woman of many talents. Her professional journey has seen her in roles such as an elementary and middle school teacher, a high school principal and the president of a Catholic school. She has also lent her expertise as an educational consultant. In addition to her professional achievements, Shelley is deeply involved in volunteer and advocacy work. She is a hospice volunteer, a YMCA Women's Leadership Conference Committee member and an SSND Learning Center Board representative.

Souella Cumming
Chair, Zonta International & Zonta Foundation for Women Finance Committee
Zonta Club of Wellington, New Zealand 

Souella Cumming has been a Zonta member since 2006. She has actively contributed to the effective oversight of Zonta’s finances having served as a member and then chair of the Zonta International Finance Committee. She has also served as international treasurer/secretary for two biennias.

Souella is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and brings a strong financial background, business acumen, governance and risk management experience, which have enabled her to constructively question Zonta International’s long-term position and actively support good financial stewardship.

Souella’s goals are to reimagine the future with a world where women can achieve their full potential. She feels that Zonta’s success hinges on the development of a longer-term strategy, realigning governance and management to support the execution of the strategy, developing financial strategies to ensure a long-term fiscally responsible organization all while using Zonta’s voice to champion women’s rights on the global stage. With the launch of the Strategic Plan, she sees a wide range of opportunities to retain what Zonta does well and ensure it is well set up to build a better world for women and girls.

Leonilda Cussotto
Chair, Zonta Foundation for Women Development Committee
Zonta Club of Portofino Tigullio Paradiso, Italy

Leonilda Cussotto has been a  Zontian since 1995. Over the years,  she has held numerous leadership positions at the club, district, national and international levels. From 2014 to 2022, she was a Zonta Foundation for Women Ambassador and has been a member of the Zonta Foundation for Women Development Committee since 2020, serving as liaison to the European and African Districts. She was also president of Zonta Italy last biennium.

Professionally, Leonilda is managing director of her family-owned company, specializing in property management and the restoration of historic buildings. She is also actively involved in community service and have held several leadership positions in volunteer organizations in her community.

Lynne Foley, OAM, is a visionary leader, keynote speaker and executive coach who believes that exceptional leadership begins when we stop performing and start being our authentic selves. With a remarkable career in executive leadership within educational organizations, governance roles and community leadership, Lynne shares powerful personal stories and valuable insights about how women can lead with courage, voice and authenticity. As a lifelong educator, Lynne is convinced that education opens the door to a meaningful and fulfilling life. She has a rich history of leadership within community and member-based organizations, most notably Zonta International. Salla Tuominen, PIP
Chair, Nominating Committee
Zonta Club of Helsinki I, Finland

Past International President Salla Tuominen is a third generation Zontian and has been a member since 2005. A seasoned Zonta leader, she has served on the international board as director, vice president, president-elect and president. She has extensive experience within her district board having served in almost all roles.

As an attorney at law specializing in both domestic and international corporate transactions, Salla keeps a “can do” attitude while working under enormous time pressure with complex legal and strategical issues alongside international teams.

Salla's goal for her leadership is to integrate sustainability into all of Zonta's business and for the organization's long-term strategic planning, ensuring that Zonta's focus areas contribute to a more sustainable future. She is committed to fostering the Zonta Spirit, a culture of belonging, community, inspiration and passion for Zonta's mission throughout the organizational structure, which she aims to simplify for greater efficiency.

Salla is dedicated to advancing effective working methods that address topical issues while also elevating the importance of speaking up for the human rights of women and girls as a core part of Zonta's mission. Attracting diverse members remains a priority, as she believes that a motivated and inclusive membership is essential for Zonta's work to achieve gender equality and maintain its strength. She is convinced that active communication is key to enhancing Zonta's visibility and impact, allowing the organization to be a vocal, visible, influential and credible advocate for women's rights worldwide.
