World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

30 July 2026

Zonta International observes World Day Against Trafficking in Persons each year to raise awareness about human trafficking and promote the rights of victims. Trafficking is a violation of human rights and call for governments to take action against it. Zonta also encourages its members to participate in activities to recognize this day.

International Equal Pay Day

18 September 2026

Zonta International observes International Equal Pay Day to raise awareness about the gender pay gap and advocate for pay equity globally.


International Day of the Girl

11 October 2026

Zonta International actively supports and celebrates International Day of the Girl, an annual observance dedicated to recognizing girls' rights and the unique challenges they face globally.


UN Day

24 October 2026

Zonta International celebrates United Nations Day, which marks the anniversary of the UN's formation in 1945. Since 1969, Zonta has held consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Past Zonta International President Helvi Sipilä, the first woman assistant secretary-general of the UN, served as secretary general for the First World Conference on Women in 1975 in Mexico and went on to spearhead the establishment of UNIFEM, now UN Women.

Zonta International observes International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which is dedicated to raising awareness and taking action against gender-based violence.

The Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign is a platform throughout the year for Zontians to speak up to promote the human rights of women and girls and end gender-based violence.

Human Rights Day

10 December 2026

Zonta International commemorates Human Rights Day, which marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. Zonta International uses this day to reaffirm its commitment to human rights, particularly the rights of women and girls, and to advocate for gender equality and the end of violence against women.


Amelia Earhart Month

1-31 January 2027

Each January, Zonta International celebrates the spirit and impact of legendary pilot Amelia Earhart, one of our most famous former members.


Amelia Earhart Day

11 January 2027

Zonta International celebrates Amelia Earhart Day, commemorating her historic solo flight across the Pacific Ocean from Hawaii to the United States mainland in 1935. This day also highlights the Amelia Earhart Fellowship, a program that supports women pursuing advanced studies in aerospace-related fields.
